Final Call to register for Objects Sandbox Ideas Labs
This is a really interesting opportunity for funded collaboration within the Internet of Things.
If you're a designer, digital maker, crafts-person or academic and are interested in a period of exciting R&D around the future of the internet and objects, you could be interested in Objects Sandbox and the Internet of Things. Objects Sandbox will fund six ground-breaking collaborations between creative companies and academic researchers around human-experiences within the Internet of Things. Each collaboration will receive £50,000 and the opportunity to work intensively on their idea over three months, starting in March 2014.
You'll need to attend an Ideas Lab to begin with and one is taking place in Cardiff on 9 October at Chapter Arts Centre. Registration is through Eventbrite and details about the lab and the wider call can be found at http://wshd.to/objects
Objects Sandbox is funded by REACT, an AHRC creative economy hub, and has already followed some amazing adventures in Books & Print, Heritage and Future Documentary: George Walkley, Head of Digital for the Hachette UK Group said "It is no exaggeration to say that in five months the sandbox has delivered as much as some mainstream publishers have done in five years".
